San Juan, La Union\u2014The Mountain Province State University just recently conducted a strategic planning for 2025-2028 at Puerto de San Juan on February 26-27, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, the two-day activity, themed \u201cTransforming Lives Through Cultural Continuity and Innovation: A Path to Global Recognition,\u201d aimed to chart key priorities, objectives, and initiatives that will shape <\/a>MPSU\u2019s future and ensure that it remains responsive to the challenges ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his welcome remarks and statement of MPSU\u2019s direction and purpose, Pres. Cue underscored the importance of strategic planning as a roadmap to an ideal future state of the university. \u201cWhat is strategic planning in higher ed? Ito po ay realizing our vision. So, bawat galaw natin ay we should be guided by our vision,\u201d Cue added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the president highlighted six (6) strategic pillars to guide the technical working groups in crafting the University’s strategic plan. These include: 1. Academic Excellence; 2. Research with Impact; 3. Student Success; 4. Diversity and Inclusion; 5. Digital Transformation; and 6. Community Engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the activity, the proposed MPSU organizational structure was presented for critiquing and finalization, along with a sectoral SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis and drafted sectoral strategic plans. These were comprehensively presented by 8 sectors: the General Administration and Services Unit (GASS); Research, Extension, Development, and Innovation (REDI); Internationalization, Planning and Information Management (IPIM); Higher Education (HED); Bontoc Campus; Tadian Campus; Bauko Campus; and the Office of the President (OP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Said activity was participated in by President Cue and his staff, all unit heads under OP, CAO, SAO, VPAF, OVPAA, VPRDE, all directors under VPAF, OVPAA, VPRDE, and VPRG, campus executive directors, deans, and associate deans under each campus, and PDO staff.#<\/p>\n\n\n\n
