The 3rd National Research and Education for Development and Innovation (REDI) Congress, held virtually on November 29, 2024, was a great success, with Mountain Province State University (MPSU) playing a key role as a co-organizer. Hosted by Romblon State University (RSU), the congress brought together researchers, educators, and professionals from across the Philippines to discuss important research, development, and innovation issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s congress focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) can tackle pressing societal challenges and promote a more inclusive and sustainable future. The event brought together university faculty, graduate students, experts, and professionals to share knowledge, collaborate on research, and explore new solutions. It also emphasized the role of research and development in improving societal well-being, especially in the context of the “new normal” brought on by recent global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MPSU made a strong contribution to the congress, with 15 presenters showcasing their research in diverse fields. These presentations covered five major areas: Social Sciences, Humanities, and Education (SHE), Supervision, Administration, Leadership, and Management (SALM), Environment, Agriculture, and Natural Sciences (EANS), Engineering, Development, and Innovation (EDI) and Extension Category. The range of topics highlighted MPSU\u2019s dedication to advancing research across multiple disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Dr. Jonnelle Fagsao was recognized with the Best Presenter award in the Social, Health, and Education (SHE) category for his research on political rhetoric, which highlighted MPSU’s strong academic contributions to Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The congress provided a valuable platform for participants to explore how artificial intelligence can be applied to various fields such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. Discussions also focused on how AI can promote social equity and address local and global challenges. The event featured sessions on building research capacity, fostering academic collaboration, and addressing the needs of communities in the digital age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Despite being held virtually, the conference facilitated interactive discussions. The Zoom platform allowed real-time exchanges, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities, enabling participants to connect and share insights with peers nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Both Romblon State University and Mountain Province State University expressed their commitment to advancing research, innovation, and education. This year\u2019s REDI Congress’s success underscored the importance of academic partnerships in fostering research-driven solutions to societal problems.
