Mountain Province kicks off the National Women’s Month celebration with a walk-for-a-cause and Taebo Session held in Poblacion, Bontoc on March 1, 2024. The event commenced at 5:00 a.m. with participants, including both women and men from various agencies, gathering at the facade of MPSPC holding banners and slogans to highlight the significance of the occasion. The walk-for-a-cause, with a minimum contribution of Php 50.00, commenced at 5:30 a.m. from the MPSPC facade, traversing through Circle, Omfeg Intersection Road, and culminating at the Provincial Plaza. The walk was followed by an invigorating Taebo session led by MPSPC MOVE Officers and members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proceeds from the walk-for-a-cause will benefit patients undergoing dialysis treatment at the Bontoc General Hospital, as highlighted by Provincial Population and Development Officer Eunice G. Andaya. The event concluded at 6:30 a.m. with participants enjoying refreshments including coffee\/water, patupat, eggs, and pandesal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaborative effort between government agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations exemplifies the spirit of unity and dedication to both physical wellness and humanitarianism. By combining advocacy with action, events like these not only raise awareness but also make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. The initial activities were participated in by employees, students, and interns from the different government and non-government agencies of Mountain Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Provincial Population and Development Officer Eunice G. Andaya, the proceeds of the walk-for-a-cause will benefit the patients at the Bontoc General Hospital who are undergoing dialysis treatment. “We really appreciate the all-out support by the various agencies to our undertaking. We also express our profound<\/p>\n\n\n\n

thanks to the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College for leading our taebo. It was made more significant by the fact that it was led by a group of men personnel of our college,” Andaya said. The MPSPC collected P7,870 during the walk for a cause and was turned over to the Provincial Treasury Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
