Bontoc, Mountain Province – A total of 116 Bachelor of Science in Criminology students of Mountain Province State University (MPSU)-Bontoc Campus participated in the Pre-Deployment Orientation held today, July 8, 2026, at Coffee and Lemon, JBA Building, Samoki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an inspirational message shared by MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, he underscored the challenges, responsibilities, and real-world learning that await the interns. “Today marks the beginning of a journey where theories meet reality, challenges become lessons, and perseverance shapes future criminology professionals. As our interns take their first step into the field, may they remember: ‘Resting is part of the journey. But quitting is not.’ Wishing the MASANDIGAN Class of 2026\u20132027 a meaningful, safe, and successful internship journey,” Dr. Cue said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delivering the message on behalf of Gender and Development (GAD) Director Ms. Michell Doss, Mr. Aaron Fakat reminded the student interns that their internship is more than an academic requirement but an opportunity to become “agents of justice, integrity, and equality.” He also encouraged them to uphold the values of inclusivity, gender sensitivity, respect for human rights, and social responsibility as they engage with communities and partner institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internship handlers from various partner agencies served as resource speakers, including SFO1 Clifford T. Chinalpan of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP); Senior Jail Officers Maren L. Lapon, Ramsey T. Filog, and Bruce Lee M. Chogsayan of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP); PCPT Marlo T. Falolo and PEMS Philip M. Chumacog of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO); and Chief of Police PMAJ Robert B. Sagandoy, PMSg Benjamin S. Chomacog, and PSSg Edyzon A. Mariano of the Bontoc Municipal Police Station. Meanwhile, Technical Sergeant Marlon A. Calvario (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk of 1403CDC, discussed military courtesy and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The orientation aimed to equip student interns with the knowledge, skills, and professional values necessary to navigate their internship successfully. This activity also strengthened the University’s partnership with its internship agencies and reaffirmed MPSU’s commitment to providing quality education through meaningful experiential learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
