BONTOC, Mountain Province – A total of 116 Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BS Criminology) interns of the Masandigan Class 2026\u20132027 officially took a significant step toward professional practice as Mountain Province State University (MPSU), through the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), held the 2nd Pre-Deployment Pinning and Donning of Nameplate and Whistle Ceremony today, July 16, 2026, at the Bontoc Municipal Auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bannering the theme, “Equipped by Education, Strengthened by Experience: The Transition from Academic Learning to Professional Practice in Criminology,” the event celebrated the students\u2019 move from classroom learning to hands-on service. The nameplates and whistles they received were more than uniform pieces \u2014 they were symbols of duty, integrity, and public trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by CCJELA Dean Dr. Edgar B. Mapangdol, reminded the interns that the symbols they now bear carry responsibilities far greater than their physical form. “Your whistle is NOT just a piece of equipment hanging around your neck, and your nameplate is NOT just a piece of metal attached to your uniform. Your whistle MUST represent a voice that stands for truth, justice, and service. Let it be louder than rumors, stronger than fear, and clearer than the noise of the world,\u201d Dr. Cue said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker, Police Captain (PCPT) Marlo T. Falolo inspired the incoming interns by stressing that true preparation for public service goes beyond academic excellence. Drawing from his own experiences, he reminded the students that resilience is forged through life’s challenges and that their internship will be the bridge between classroom theories and the realities of the profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When you wear your uniform, do so with unwavering pride and dignity. From the moment you step out of your homes, you do not just represent yourself; you carry the reputation of your family, your university, your community, and your faith. Guard that reputation fiercely. Do not compromise it,” PCPT Falolo added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A heartfelt moment unfolded as the incoming interns serenaded their parents and guardians, expressing gratitude for their unwavering love and support, followed by the presentation of tokens of appreciation that highlighted the vital role of families in the students’ academic and personal journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic pinning and donning of the nameplate and whistle, formally preparing the Masandigan Class 2026\u20132027 for their internship while reaffirming MPSU’s commitment to producing graduates who are academically equipped, ethically grounded, and professionally competent in the pursuit of justice and public service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
