MPSU Joins Bamboo Industry Development Program & Cordillera Heritage 101 Launch


MPSU delegates led by President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, along with other State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Cordillera Region, attended the three-day activity hosted by Ifugao State University (IFSU) titled as “Bamboo Industry Development Program Project Exhibits and 2025 Fund Implementation Planning,” held at the Great Eastern Hotel. Quezon Ave., Quezon City on February 4, 2025.

Prof. Serafin L. Ngohayon of IFSU is the project leader of the bamboo program exhibits, which zeroes in on educating the participants on bamboo production and utilization, featuring and increasing awareness of using bamboo as replacement for wood, and promoting and showcasing the value of bamboo products to CAR-SUCs.

At the same time, MPSU participants also joined the Cordillera Heritage 101 Book Launching and FITS (Faculty Immersion and Training Seminar), which aim to provide an immersive training program that will equip faculty members with knowledge and skills to efficiently and effectively teach the Cordillera Heritage 101 course.

The FITS was authored by Dr. Geraldine Madjaco, Dr. Julie Grace Docallas, Dr. Rhoda Galangco, Dr. Jonelle Fagsao, and Dr. Claire Kaplaan Lafadchan.

MPSU attendees who joined President Cue include VP for Research Development and Extension Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, Tadian Campus Executive Director Dr. Brent Greg E. Gomuad, Montañosa Coffee Center Director Mr. Domingo L. Lawagey, Director for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Rhoda Basco-Galangco, National Certification Awards Coordinator Dr. Julie Grace M. Docallas, ARJP Coordinator Dr. Claire Kaplaan P. Lafadchan, Teacher Education Faculty Dr. Jonelle D. Fagsao, Supply and Procurement Staff Mr. Rey C. Gaudan, Cashier Staff Ms. May Joy G. Mongo, and Mr. Diarh Gabutan.

Said events will run until February 6, 2025.#
