The Department of Energy (DOE) rated Mountain Province State University (MPSU) Main Campus with a 5-star and Grade A category for the universityโs satisfactory practices in electricity and fuel conservation after the energy audit at MPSU Bontoc Campus today, February 4.
Following the virtual energy audit orientation on January 24, 2025, the team of the DOE conducts an on-site energy audit at MPSU Main Campus to assess its compliance with the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP). Further, this is to evaluate the agency’s energy performance in order to identify areas for improvement.
Said audit is pursuant to the set provisions of the Administrative Order (AO) No. 15, s. 2024 issued by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., calling upon all government entities to accelerate the implementation of the GEMP and to strengthen the effort of the DOE in promoting energy efficiency and conservation in the public sector.
The satisfactory rate given by DOE implies its recognition of MPSUโs widespread adoption of energy-efficient electricity usage within the campus and fuel-saving measures in its transportation system. This reflects the universityโs holistic approach and efforts in contributing to sustainable energy.
The energy auditors from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Public Sector Management Division (EPSMD) under the Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB) were as follows: Ms. Angela Maureen R. Panapanaan, Mr. Rusty Mar G. Sadausa, Ms. Dorella Maye Penas, and Ms. Cynthia Manalec.#
