
In a significant milestone for the Mountain Province State University and the communities it serves, the Commission on Higher Education โ Regional Quality Assessment Team (CHED-RQAT) has affirmed that both Tadian and Paracelis Campuses met the minimum requirements to offer the Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BS CRIM) program following the successful conduct of the onsite evaluation held from July 8โ11, 2025.
The 4-day activity began with an opening program at the Bontoc Campus, attended by University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., Dean, School of Criminal Justice and Liberal Arts Dr. Edgar B. Mapangdol, Program Chairperson for BS CRIM program Ms. Lourdes T. Bandas, as well as the BSCRIM faculty members.
They were joined by the CHED-RQA Team/ evaluators namely: Dr. Christopher A. Depnag as the Team Leader; and the Team MembersโDr. Djoana May P. Aoas- Tabao-ican from the University of Cordilleras and Dr. Filbert Patrick F. Tad -awan from the University of Baguio.
The onsite evaluation took place on July 9 and 10 at Paracelis and Tadian campuses, respectively.
During the visits, the team reviewed the documentary requirements, inspected facilities, and held consultative sessions with the BSCRIM Faculty. The activity culminated with an exit conference, where the CHED-RQAT shared their impressions and recommendations.
In a Statement of Commitment delivered by Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, he expressed that said commitment is anchored on the following:

Community Engagement: Fostering strong partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, government offices, and community organizations.
Ethical Leadership: Instilling the values of integrity, justice, and public service to our students.
He also highlighted the institution’s unwavering commitment to the successful implementation and sustainability of the BS Criminology program to empower the youth of Tadian, Paracelis, and neighboring communities to pursue meaningful careers in criminology and public safety.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Lourdes T. Bandas, expressed her gratitude to the CHED-RQA Team. She voiced her full support for the initiative and making education more accessible to our communities.#
