𝗠𝗣𝗦𝗨 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗭𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗖 𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗚𝗦𝗔𝗢 𝗯𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

RC Martinez Farm & Garden Resort, Kidapawan City–Out of 189 elite trail runners who braved the challenging 21-kilometer course of the Luntian Trail Ultra Marathon 2025 held on August 16–17, 2025, Zhedrac Dave Fagsao, a varsity athlete, consistent athletic awardee, and 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student of the University, successfully secured the 3rd Runner-up spot.

Balancing the demanding requirements of clinical duties and academic responsibilities in nursing with the discipline of athletic training, Fagsao’s achievement stands as a testament to his resilience, determination, and excellent time management. As a student-athlete and a member of the Philippine National Trail Running Team, he exemplifies the values of dedication and perseverance that MPSU instills in its scholars.

The Luntian Trail Ultra Marathon 2025 was not just another race but a Philippine Trail Running Association (PhilTRA) Championship Qualifier (PCQ), a crucial component of PhilTRA’s nationwide talent identification and ranking program. These qualifiers, organized by seasoned trail and ultra-running event directors across the country, play a vital role in selecting and developing the nation’s top endurance runners. By excelling in this competitive field, Fagsao further strengthened his eligibility and standing as one of the country’s promising trail runners.

Despite the challenges of juggling clinical training, academic responsibilities, and national-level athletic preparation, Fagsao continues to bring pride not only to his university but also to the Philippine trail running community. This recent feat adds to his growing list of achievements. Earlier this year, on March 22–23, 2025, Fagsao also earned recognition by finishing as 2nd Runner-Up in the Philippine Trail Running Championship held in Danao City, Cebu.
