
CHED-CAR Regional Office, La Trinidad, Benguet— Ms. Showny G. Buasen, who recently graduated as Cum Laude from the University, proudly received the UniFAST Academic Excellence Award from the Commission on Higher Education-Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (CHED-UNIFAST) on 18 August 2025.
Said award was given by CHED-CAR Regional Director Atty. Septon A. De La Cruz.
Ms. Buasen is a beneficiary of the Free Higher Education (FHE) Program, one of the major components of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA), which covers tuition and other school fees for first-time undergraduate students enrolled in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs). She is also a grantee of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), a financial assistance program that helps students overcome economic barriers to education.
