Key milestones include the signing into law of RA No. 10583 on August 1, which officially converted MPSPC into MPSU, and the formal approval of the university conversion by the Commission on Higher Education on August 27, solidifying the universityโs mandate to expand access to quality higher education throughout the Cordillera region.
Fr. Vincent Mynem Sagandoy from the Apostolic Vicariate of Bontoc-Lagawe officiated the said mass.
In addition, a short program was also conducted. Local government officials, including Cong. Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr., represented by Mr. Erlindo Agwilang, Jr., and Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., represented by Mr. Ernesto Bondad, delivered their messages of support and felicitations.
Further, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue underscored that the milestones are products of hard work, unity, faith, and unyielding hope for the future of Mountain Province.
“As we give thanks today, let us also renew our commitmentโto continue striving, to continue serving, and to continue building a university that transforms lives and communities for generations to come,” Dr. Cue added.
A community dance concluded the event.
