
Malacaรฑang, ManilaโMountain Province State University (MPSU) was among the distinguished recipients of the 27th Philippine Quality Award (PQA) during the Conferment Ceremony today, September 5, 2025, at the Malacaรฑang Palace.
MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue personally accepted the award Philippine Quality Award Level II, a recognition for proficiency in Quality Management in 2024, on behalf of the university, highlighting MPSUโs commitment to excellence in education, institutional governance, and public service in the Cordillera region.
The ceremony was led by Executive Secretary Retired Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin, who delivered the keynote address and presented the trophies, assisted by Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque. Joining them were Mr. Ruy Y. Moreno, Chairman of the 27th Cycle PQA Board of Judges; Dr. Leocadio S. Sebastian, Acting President and CEO of the Development Academy of the Philippines and PQA Administrator for the Public Sector; and Dr. Zandra N. Maningas, Vice-President of the Philippine Society for Quality, Inc., and PQA Administrator for the Private Sector.
The PQA is the highest level of national recognition for exemplary organizational performance, patterned after the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award of the United States. It is conferred on organizations or institutions in both the public and private sectors that demonstrate outstanding commitment to performance excellence and global competitiveness.
Joining PEGC during the awarding were MPSU university officials, including Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, and Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Dexter C. Lingbanan.
