Administration Building, Bontoc— In its continuous efforts to promote well-being and mental health in its academic and administrative community, the University officially launched the first Happiness Center in the province. This is also in celebration of University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue’s birthday.
The Happiness Center, which is located on the 3rd Floor of the Administration Building, features massage chairs, lounge areas, daily activities such as group and one-on-one consultations, and trained professionals on mental health and gender and development.
Said center aims to provide safe spaces to all its students and personnel. As President Cue noted in this message, โIt is worth remembering that this initiative was first envisioned as a Mental Health Center, which is a safe space where our students, faculty, and staff could seek support and guidance in times of struggle.โ
โThe establishment of this center is a testament to our conviction that the greatest asset of our university is its people, and their well-being is non-negotiable,โ he added.
Said initiative was made possible by the University through its Gender and Development Unit, and Health Services Office, in collaboration with the Department of Health, the Provincial Health Office of Mountain Province, and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Mountain Province.#
