October 15, 2025 โ€“ The Mountain Province State University (MPSU) Board of Regents (BOR) convened for its Regular Hybrid Meeting at Le Monet Hotel, Camp John Hay, Baguio City, to deliberate on key administrative and academic matters aimed at further strengthening the universityโ€™s operations and institutional development.

The meeting was presided over by MPSU-BOR Chairperson Dr. Marita R. Canapi, with University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue and other distinguished members of the Board in attendance.

Among those present were CHED Regional Director Jimmy Catanes, DOST Regional Director Nancy A. Bantog, DA Regional Executive Director Atty. Jennilyn M. Dawayan, Hon. Winston V. Calde, Hon. Atty. Cyphrine Maxcel Y. Dalog-Duclan, and private sector representatives Hon. Yuri Lee Culallad and Hon. John B. Montero III. Also in attendance were Faculty Regent Hon. Johnny P. Cayabas, Student Regent Hon. Hill Coleman C. Awichen, and Board Secretary Derine D. Aguid.

Several MPSU officials also joined the meeting as resource persons, including Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF) Reynaldo P. Gayo Jr., Vice President for Institutional Planning and Management (VPIPM) Atty. Dexter C. Lingbanan, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (VPRDE) Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang, and MPSU Bontoc Administrator Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed.

Supporting the meetingโ€™s proceedings were university personnel Ms. Sheryll B. Cherwaken, Ms. Valorie Anne B. Khayad, Ms. Rochelle Ann C. Dalay-on, Mr. Jude Anthony L. Baguingey, and Ms. Vanessa C. Maguen.

Following the meeting, a tribute program was held in honor of Dr. Marita R. Canapi, outgoing Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner, in recognition of her dedicated service and invaluable contributions to higher education and to the MPSU Board of Regents.
