Bearing the theme โBrewing Strength, Building Unity: Sports and Culture in Action,โ this yearโs intramurals gathered three teams, including the Phantom Beavers of the College of Engineering; Eco Warriors of the College of Agriculture and Forestry and the College of Criminal Justice; and Bluefalloes of the College of Teacher Education.
A parade livened the road leading to the campus before an opening ceremony packed the University grounds. After the preliminary activities, the lighting of torch, the oath of amateurism, the pledge of officiating officials, the formal declaration of the intramurals, and the ceremonial toss followed.
In his inspirational message, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by SSDO Dean Ms. Jennifer Ruth C. Tuazon, encouraged the teams to embody the spirit of sportsmanship, demonstrating fair play, respect and teamwork.
โCelebrating this Intramural fest is like โchewing mommaโ with its different ingredients such as the GAWED, APOG, BUWA and the MUSKADA, without each oneโs flavor, it doesnโt blend together to achieve its distinct taste,โ he added.
In addition, MPSU Tadian Administrator Dr. Brent Greg E. Gomuad also noted that beyond the scoreboard, let the Intramurals theme remind that sports is more than competition, it is storytelling in motion.
โWe are gathered not to compete, but to connect, to celebrate the vibrant poles of our identity, where sports and culture move as one in action,โ Dr. Gomuad added.
Said event will run until 17 October 2025.
MPSU also sends its gratitude to the Philippine National Police and the Bureau of Fire Protection for their services and continuous support to the Universityโs goals and for the betterment of the University and the community as a whole.#
