
October 20, 2025- In line with the celebration of the National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW), MPSU was recognized as a collaborating partner by the BJMP – MP District Jail for its intervention programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) held at MPDJ, Caluttit, Bontoc.
University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by Student Services and Development Office Dean Ms. Jennifer C. Tuazon, received a certificate of recognition from MP District Jail Acting Jail Warden JSINSP John S. Melecio in appreciation of its literacy program on College Education Behind Bar (CEBB) including Hospitality Extension Livelihood Program (HELP),a livelihood and skills training program delivered by the University.
Dr. Cue, in his message, expressed the University’s appreciation as a collaborating partner and a stakeholder.
“As a partner and stakeholder, MPSU is honored to be part of the national effort in pursuing literacy and education for our PDLs through the Literacy Program and the College Education Behind Bars,” he said.
He also added, “Institutionally, this is a testament to the University’s efforts in advancing our mandate as a higher education institution by expanding and extending learning opportunities for those behind bars.”
