The Mountain Province State University inked a Memorandum of Agreement with the Environmental Management Bureau- Cordillera Administrative Region on September 2024 for the โAdopt-an-Estero/Creek/River/Waterbodyโ Program.
Said MOA enabled the University to adopt a one (1) kilometer stretch of the Chico River, Poblacion Side, Upstream and Downstream of the Chico Karayan Bridge in the central town.
As stipulated in the MOA, the University is responsible for improving the quality of water by conducting regular clean-up activities in the adopted water body.
As a result, the University, in partnership with various government agencies, regularly conducted clean-up drives in the adopted water body.
