MPSU hosts first Angara Cup in Mountain Province


Delegates from the 10 municipalities of Mountain Province brought buzz and color to the main streets of Bontoc during the parade this morning to open the first Alagang Angara Sports Cup here in Mountain Province. Mountain Province State University is the host university for this year’s cup.

The parade was led by the Senators’ representatives, including Hon. Rhom Frias, representative for Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara; Hon. Ajie Baldimor, representative for Sen. Pilar Juana “Pia” Cayetano; and Hons. Patrick Sulit and Rics Hernandez, representatives for Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, University officials, Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr. represented by Political Affairs Officer III Mr. Erlindo Agwilang, and provincial and local government heads from the province.

An opening program is ongoing at the Eyeb Open Gym.

The participants include University student-athletes and youths from the province’s 10 municipalities, ages 15-30, enrolled from secondary to tertiary.

The cup will run until 15 December 2024.
