MPSU Shuttlers Shine in 1st Benguet Badminton Tourney


The Mountain Province State University (MPSU) badminton team showcased exceptional skills, bringing home an impressive haul of medals during the just concluded 1st Benguet Badminton Tournament.

Leading the charge, Mr. Eldwin Karl Bumacas and Ms. Marites Yakak clinched the gold medal in the Mixed Doubles Level C category, delivering an outstanding performance against a competitive field.

In the Men’s Doubles Level B category, the dynamic duo of the Ngan-oy brothers demonstrated grit and teamwork, earning a well-deserved bronze medal.

Ms. Marites P. Yakak continued her winning streak, pairing with Ms. Jasmine Langkayas to emerge as champions in the Women’s Doubles Level C category.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s Doubles Level E, Ms. Shyrah Tinambacan and her partner displayed exceptional synergy and skill, securing another gold medal for the team.

In addition to the medalists, the tandems of Ms. Hylyn F. Manayos and Ms. Mich M. Kacayon, as well as Joser Ian M. Langpawen and Javee W. Dawayen, also participated in the event and showcased exceptional skills, highlighting the depth of talent within the MPSU badminton team.

The team attributed their success to the unwavering support of the MPSU administration, especially to the university president Dr. Edgar G. Cue, for his full support to ensure the athletes were well-prepared and equipped for the competition.
