MPSU Co-Hosts and Presents Research at the 2nd IRICEEA

The 2nd International Research and Innovation Conference on Education, Engineering, and Agriculture (IRICEEA) was held at the La Union Convention Center from December 2 to 4, 2024. With the theme “The Future of Sustainable Development: Advancements in Education, Engineering, and Agriculture,” the conference brought together educators, researchers, and professionals to explore how these fields can collaborate to address sustainable development challenges.

Mountain Province State University (MPSU) played a key role in the event’s success. As a co-organizer and institutional partner, MPSU has been involved in the conference since its launch in 2023. As a pioneer partner, the university helped shape the conference’s goals and direction, underscoring its commitment to advancing research in education, engineering, and agriculture.

MPSU’s involvement at the conference went beyond organizing and partnerships. The university had 13 presenters who showcased their research in diverse areas, demonstrating MPSU’s active contribution to addressing pressing societal and environmental issues. The research covered a wide range of topics in education, engineering, agriculture, and sustainability.

Dr. Lichelyn M. Nasungan facilitated discussions in the agriculture category. These roles were important in ensuring the smooth flow of the event and facilitating in-depth discussions on the presented research topics.

One of the key highlights for MPSU was the Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) team’s booth, which featured the Montañosa Coffee Center. The center showcased its locally produced, high-quality coffee, which received significant interest from conference participants. This opportunity allowed MPSU to highlight how its agricultural research promotes sustainable farming practices and supports local economic development.

The first day of the conference featured inspiring keynote speeches that set the tone for the discussions ahead. The speakers emphasized the importance of innovation in education, engineering, and agriculture for promoting sustainable development and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the evening, participants engaged in a cultural exchange and networking session, where they could meet, share ideas, and build potential collaborations. This informal gathering allowed for exchanging ideas and deepened the connections among attendees from different countries and sectors.

The remaining days of the conference were filled with presentations, workshops, and discussions on how the fields of education, engineering, and agriculture can work together to address the world’s most urgent challenges. Topics ranged from sustainable farming practices and technological innovations to new approaches in education that support global sustainability goals.

For MPSU, this conference was an important platform to showcase the university’s research, innovation, and commitment to sustainable development. As a co-organizer and institutional partner, MPSU’s involvement highlighted its ongoing dedication to advancing research, fostering collaboration, and contributing to global efforts in education, engineering, and agriculture.
