MPSPC Equips Leaders with Insights on SDGs and International Rankings

Bontoc, MP-March 25, 2024. MPSPC has taken a significant stride towards aligning its academic pursuits with global sustainability objectives and international recognition. The Quality Assurance Unit of MPSPC organized the first in a series of orientation activities titled “Information and Widest Dissemination: Sustainable Development Goals, World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) and Times Higher Education (THE).” This first session, which targeted unit heads from both the Bontoc and Tadian campuses, was held at the MPSPC Admin Conference Hall.

The primary objective of the activity was to acquaint unit heads from both campuses with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while shedding light on the workings and significance of international ranking bodies such as WURI and THE. Luzlyn M. Agwilang, Director for Research and Development and Coordinator for International Certification and Awards, delivered a comprehensive lecture on these critical topics, emphasizing their relevance to the institution’s strategic direction, as embodied in its Vision and Mission.

In addition to fostering awareness of SDGs and international rankings, the event served as a platform for initiating innovations within the college. Meanwhile, Mr. Christian Sumeg-ang presented the MPSPC Connect project; an initiative to enhance the college’s data management capabilities. This project features MPSPC’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to enhance educational quality and efficiency.

Finally, College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., emphasized the collective responsibility toward universal advancement. He highlighted the role of MPSPC in effecting positive transformation and delivering quality, inclusive education to its students and encouraged all participants to remain steadfast in driving progress, fostering innovation, and shaping the future of MPSPC. He further reiterated the institution’s vision of becoming an internationally recognized higher education institution, a goal that requires sustained commitment and collaborative effort from all stakeholders.

As MPSPC continues to chart its course toward international recognition and educational excellence, this event serves as a crucial milestone in the College’s journey of transformation and progress. With a renewed focus on sustainability and innovation, MPSPC reaffirms its commitment to contributing to shaping the future of higher education.

A similar activity for faculty members and students will push through this April 2024.
