
College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue led Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, through its Research Development and Extension (RDE) Unit, to participate in the three-day 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTiW) in the Cordillera Region on August 7, 2024, which took place at the Ifugao State University (IFSU), Lamut, Ifugao.
Bannering the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” this year’s RSTiW highlights the significance of the nation’s commitment to leveraging science and technology to build a future forged by innovation as it reflects on the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) four pillars, which are promotion of human well-being, wealth creation, wealth protection, and sustainability.
The DOST program and innovation feature twenty-eight (28) exhibitors, including MPSPC, along with other State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the region, Research Development Institutions (RDIs), technology business incubators, and entrepreneurs. Further, the booths are presented by DOST’s partners and stakeholders, which includes S&T Exhibit Bazaar, S&T Interactive Exhibits, press conferences, project visits, five (5) forums, startup mapping: innovation dialogue and fashion shows, startup caravan, and robotics expo.
Said 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTiW) event was led and graced by DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr., which was attended by DOST Undersecretary Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, DOST- Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) Director Atty. Marion D. Decena (represented by Mr. Joycel N. Aguilar), DOST-CAR Regional Director Dr. Nancy A. Bantog, and IFSU President Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon. Other distinguished attendees included Ifugao Congressman Hon. Solomon R. Chungalao (represented by Mr. Ramses G. Cabbigat), Ifugao Governor Hon. Jerry U. Dalipog, Lamut Mayor Hon. Victomar H. Bunnol.
President Cue was joined by RDE staff: Mr. Rolando M. Tawanna, Jr., Ms. Laire S. Ligligen, Ms. Norwina F. Fanged, and Ms. Carolyn C. Kalley, Cashier Staff Ms. May Joy G. Mongo, Events Management Staff Mr. Augie M. Egangan, and Presidential Management Staff Ms. Nalyn A. Maitang.
