MPSU Adopts 21 Hectares as Permanent Tree Planting and Nurturing Site under ENGP


The Mountain Province State University formerly Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) through its National Service Training Program (NSTP) will be adopting a total of 21 hectares of plantation in Mountain Province as its “permanent tree planting, growing, and nurturing site” as part of the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP).

This is following a signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue and the Department of Environment & Natural Resources (DENR) – Cordillera through the Community Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – Sabangan represented by Rodel V. Cacpal at CENRO Balaoa, Tadian, MP, on June 20, 2024.

Under the Agreement, MPSPC will undertake to adopt three sites in different towns as its permanent tree planting, growing, and nurturing areas for the rehabilitation and enhancement of its forest cover. These include 17 hectares in Catengan, Besao, two hectares in Tue, Tadian, and two hectares in Bauko.

Meanwhile, the ENGP seeks the multi-level and multi-sectoral participation and collaboration of different sectors toward natural resources development and management as well as environmental protection.
