After 15 years in the making, the Mountain Province State University witnessed the investiture of its first University President. Dr. Edgar G. Cue, the last MPSPC College President and the first MPSU University President, formally took his oath of office before CHED Commissioner and MPSU Board of Regents Chairperson Marita Rana-Canapi, today, 17 January 2025 at the University Auditorium.
President Cue in his investiture address quipped that the occasion serves as a reaffirmation of a shared sense of purpose in education, research, and service that benefits the community and the nation. He also extended his gratitude to all the people behind the continuous success of the University. โI as the father of this university I am entrusted with, envision MPSU as a PRIME institution having a positive and lasting impact on the lives touched by its commitments and success,โ he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Canapi shared three lessons with President Cue and the attendees: the lesson of the past, the lesson of the present, and the lesson of the future. โLessons from the past teach us patience and perseverance; the present challenges us to connect, collaborate, and contribute what we have to offer; and as we look to the future, we are called to create, innovate, and shape what lies ahead,” she stressed.
MPSU transitioned into a university through Republic Act 10583 and its amending act Republic Act 12016 in August last year.
The family of President Cue, members of the Board of Regents, SUC Presidents and personnel from all over the country, government agency heads, former College officials and personnel, students, alumni, and personnel witnessed the investiture.
