MPSU Recognized for Supporting College Education Behind Bars at NACOCOW 2024


MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by the Dean for Student Services Development Office Ms. Jennifer Ruth C. Tuazon, received a certificate of recognition during the opening of the 29th National Correctional Conscious Week (NACOCOW) 2024 at the Mountain Province District Jail, Bilibid, Upper Caluttit, Bontoc, earlier today, October 21.

The certificate recognizes Dr. Cue’s invaluable support for the continuous implementation of the College Education Behind Bars (CEBB) to ten (10) Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of Mountain Province District Jail Facility.

Bannering the theme “Makataong Pakikitungo, Matinong Pamumuno at Matatag na Prinsipyo Tungo sa Maunlad na Serbisyong Pampiitan,” the activity was attended by Provincial Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr., represented by Executive Assistant John Challoy, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Also attending the event were heads and staff of different line agencies including the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Representatives from the private sector who also received certificates for their valuable support and contributions to the PDLs of Mountain Province District Jail.
