Pre-service teachers from the various programs of the School of Teacher Education of Bontoc campus received their nameplates today, 24 January 2025, during the symbolic pinning of nameplate ceremony at the JBA Building, Samoki MP. Ms. Marione L. Canipas served as the Guest Speaker for the ceremony.

Said ceremony where aspiring teachers receive a pin, marks their official transition from student to pre-service teacher, signifying their acceptance of the responsibility and commitment to the teaching profession as they embark on their practice teaching experience. It is a rite of passage recognizing their dedication to education and their readiness to enter the classroom.

University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue represented by Bontoc campus Director Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed lauds the student teachers for their perseverance and the parents for their continuous support to their children. “You know, laziness kills ambition, anger kills wisdom, fear kills dreams, ego kills growth, jealousy kills peace, and doubt kills confidence; if we read this backward, confidence kills doubt, peace kills jealousy, growth kills ego, dream kills fear, wisdom kills anger, and ambition kills laziness,” Dr. Cue quipped. “Always keep that in mind,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ms. Canipas shared that teaching is more than a profession- it is a calling and a passion. “Go forth, teach with a heart, teach with passion, and transform lives,” she added.

The ceremony is held every semester before sending off student teachers in their cooperating schools.#
