Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang, Vice President for Innovation, Research, Development, Publication, and Extension of the University, received the 2025 National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Gabay Award under the Division of Chemical Sciences, making her one of six awardees nationwide across the NRCPโs fourteen scientific divisions.
The award recognized her leadership of the research โOptimization of Existing Water Supply Distribution System Using Technology-Based Tools in a Rural Community of Mountain Province, Philippines,โ which translated scientific knowledge into adopted technologies, data-driven decision-making tools, and policy-relevant solutions for improving rural water supply and water resource management.
The NRCP Gabay Award is given annually to active or retired NRCP members whose scholarly work has gone beyond academic publication and resulted in real-world applications.
The awarding ceremony was held on December 10, 2025, during the 92nd NRCP Founding Anniversary Celebration.
