A noteworthy breakthrough for the Cordillera Administrative Region as two Higher Education Institutions Leaders earned the honor of joining and graduating at the prestigious Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania, USA, through the CHED HUSAY Leadership Scholarship Program.
Bringing the spirit of the Cordillerans to Wharton, Dr. Edgar Cue, President of Mountain Province State University, and Atty. Kara Russanne Alawas, President of Star Colleges, Inc., stood as proud leaders of the region, showcasing Cordilleran excellence on an international stage. Both leadersβ participation represents the dedication and achievements of higher education in the Cordilleras.
Backed by the support of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), two Cordillera institutions gained access to world-class training in educational leadership and management through the HUSAY Scholarship Program.
The region expresses its appreciation to CHED for advancing opportunities that develop and empower Filipino academic leaders. The knowledge and perspectives gained by Dr. Cue and Atty. Alawas not only open new doors for innovation, leadership, and growth within Mountain Province State University, Star Colleges, Inc., and the wider Cordillera education network, but also support the regionβs commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on inclusive and quality education and SDG 17 on fostering partnerships to advance collective progress in higher education.
