
MPSU-Bontoc—Three key projects were officially inaugurated and blessed today, 04 March 2026, marking a significant milestone in the Universityโs commitment to excellence. The event was led by University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue and honored by the presence of CHED Commissioner and MPSU Board of Regents Chairperson Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III.
The newly unveiled facilities include the Espresso & Stories Coffee Library and Museum, the Wall of Excellence, and the Gimata Bridge.
The Espresso & Stories Coffee Library and Museum showcases coffee products, coffee equipment, paraphernalia, and reference materials that highlight the rich local coffee culture. The facility is designed to be a vibrant hub for coffee enthusiasts, researchers, and the community.
The Wall of Excellence features the Universityโs prestigious awards and recognitions, including accolades from the World University Ranking for Innovations, the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, ISO 9001:2015 certification, and the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). It also highlights awards from UI Green Metrics, the Philippine Quality Awards, Prime HRM Bronze Awards, and commendations and other awards from the Civil Service Commission and partner agencies.
Connecting the Administration Building and the Old Academic Building, the Gimata Bridge is the latest infrastructure addition aimed at improving campus accessibility and convenience for students, staff, and visitors.
The blessing ceremony was officiated by Fr. Samuel Maximo of Sta. Rita de Cascia Cathedral. The event was attended by university officials, faculty, staff, and students.
Following the blessing and inauguration, Commissioner Apag and University officials toured the Happiness Center and various facilities of the University.
