A student from the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science was recognized as one of the awardees during the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) Batch 2025 Awarding Ceremony. The event was held on 27 February 2026 at the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera Administrative Regionโ€™s New Conference Hall in Guisad, Baguio City.

Mr. Peter A. Payanggat, who hails from Sagada, Mountain Province, received a plaque and a certificate of recognition with Php 80,000 in start-up capital as an awardee under the Provincial Start-Up Category for his business, Payanggat Rabbit Farm.

The YFC Program is a competitive, nationwide initiative in the Philippines led by DA that provides startup capital grants, training, and mentorship to Filipinos aged 18 to 30. It aims to empower young Filipinos to launch innovative, sustainable, and profitable agri-fishery enterprises.
