
May 29, 2026 — In a bid to foster academic collaboration, research engagement, internationalization, and cultural exchange, the
Mountain Province State University (MPSU) and the Asia Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE) formally strengthened their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) held at the university’s Administrative Conference Hall, Bontoc Campus.
Featuring the theme “Empowering Education and Equity: Academic and Research Exchange, ” the agreement was formalized during a ceremony attended by guests and participants from the Asia Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE) headed by Dr. Veeranot Nissapatorn, alongside a team from France and Canada, as well as MPSU officials, faculty members, staff, and students.
The ceremonial signing highlighted the mutual commitment of both institutions to develop sustainable academic and research collaborations, faculty and student exchanges, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
In his message, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue highlighted the significance of partnerships in promoting academic excellence, research collaboration, innovation, and cultural understanding, emphasizing that meaningful collaborations create opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional growth, and stronger institutional linkages that contribute to globally competitive and socially responsive education while fostering mutual respect, deeper understanding, and long-term cooperation among academic communities.
“This partnership symbolizes our mutual trust, shared responsibility, and collective aspiration to create greater opportunities for learning, innovation, research collaboration, faculty mobility programs, and shared academic resources. Through this partnership, both institutions open opportunities for joint research projects and professional frameworks that support institutional accreditation and global competitiveness,” Dr. Cue said.
Said event marks another milestone in MPSU’s continuing efforts to expand its international linkages and reinforce its role as a hub for academic excellence, innovation, and global cooperation.
As part of the cultural immersion component of the activity, the APCORE team participated in a campus tour from showcasing the university’s dedication to promoting indigenous knowledge, cultural preservation, and sustainable community development.
