Mountain Province State University β Tadian, in partnership with Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH), successfully conducted the βBuilding Healthier Communities: Advancing Prevention and Wellnessβ program on June 23, 2026, at the IPED Building.
The activity served as a platform to promote health education and strengthen community awareness on preventable diseases and healthy living. Faculty members, staff, students, and members of the community participated in a series of informative discussions led by healthcare professionals from LHMRH.
The program began with an overview of the activity by Dr. Abegail I. Danasen, followed by discussions on the harmful effects of smoking and vaping by Dr. Jody Bancod, HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness by Dr. Bernard Demot, and dengue prevention and control by Dr. Thea Pamela Cajulao. Participants also learned about the importance of voluntary blood donation through the session facilitated by Kenn S. Aglit, highlighting how a simple act of giving blood can save lives.
The event also provided an opportunity for participants to engage in an open forum, allowing them to raise questions and gain a deeper understanding of the health issues affecting individuals and communities today.
Representing Dr. Edgar G. Cue, University President, Prof. Reynaldo P. Gayo delivered the President’s message, reaffirming the University’s commitment to promoting wellness, preventive healthcare, and community engagement through meaningful partnerships.
Through this initiative, MPSU-Tadian continues to uphold its role in fostering a healthier, more informed, and resilient community where prevention, education, and collective action remain at the forefront of public health efforts.
