Abatan, Bauko, Mountain Province (January 27, 2025) โ€“ Continuing their commitment to expanding clinical learning opportunities for nursing students, Dean Alfred O. Fomocao Jr., Associate Dean Annie Lourie Y. Paredes, and all Level Coordinators from the Mountain Province State University – School of Healthcare Education (MPSU-SHCE) participated in the 2nd Founding Anniversary and blessing of the kitchen and mess hall building of the Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center – Mountain Province (DATRC-MP).

Said event began with a Eucharistic mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Marcial C. Castaneda, setting a solemn and hopeful tone for the day. This was followed by the blessing of the new facility, symbolizing growth and the centerโ€™s unwavering commitment to its mission.

Dr. Gary U. Ong, Chief of Hospital III, warmly welcomed participants and guests during the short program that followed. The vision of DATRC-MP to become the premier center for rehabilitation in Northern Luzon was shared, further emphasized by an audio-visual presentation highlighting the centerโ€™s achievements.

Prominent leaders and stakeholders graced the event with messages of support and inspiration. Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, represented by his Political Affairs Officer, Mr. Dionisio K. Wacdisen, reaffirmed the governmentโ€™s commitment to addressing substance abuse challenges. Executive Assistant Rolando B. Bragado represented Hon. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr., while Bauko Mayor Randolf T. Awisanโ€™s message was conveyed by Atty. Sebastian Badongen, Special Assistant to the Mayor. The Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director, Dr. Ferdinand M. Benbenen, represented by Mr. Michael B. Capuyan Jr, Development Management Officer V-PDOHO-Mt. Province highlighted the critical role of healthcare partnerships in rehabilitation efforts.

The event also recognized partner agencies that have contributed to DATRC-MPโ€™s progress. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to DepEd, represented by Schools Division Superintendent of Mt. Province Dr. Benilda M. Daytaca; the Municipality of Buguias, led by Mayor Ruben L. Tindaan; MPSU, represented by Dean Alfred O. Fomocao Jr., the Leng-ag Group, represented by Rev. Fr. Marcial Castaneda; and BJMP-Mt. Province, represented by Jail Warden, Senior Inspector Bartolome B. Tresmanio. These agencies not only received recognition but also renewed their pledge of collaboration and support for the center.

The 2nd Founding Anniversary of DATRC-MP was more than a celebration; it was a reaffirmation of the centerโ€™s purpose and vision to lead Northern Luzon in the fight against substance abuse. With the collective efforts of its stakeholders, DATRC-MP stands as a beacon of hope for individuals seeking rehabilitation and a testament to what collaboration can achieve.#
