Bontoc, MP (January 28, 2025) โ The University through its institutional International Organization for Standardization (ISO) committee, spearheaded a seminar on ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) for personnel from the Department of Education-Division of Mountain Province.
ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized standard that outlines the requirements for establishing an effective QMS. Its implementation ensures organizations have robust processes and trained staff to consistently deliver high-quality products or services. The standard evaluates key areas such as leadership commitment, customer focus, risk management, process control, resource management, continual improvement, and internal audits, aiming to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.
During the seminar, MPSUโs Document Control Custodian and ISO Coordinator, Ms. Carolyne Dale Castaรฑeda-Iguid, provided an in-depth presentation on the history, principles, and requirements of ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
The event also included a mock audit led by MPSUโs internal quality auditors, namely, Ms. Iguid, Ms. Jenifer N. Damayan, Dr. Rudy T. Papsa-ao, and Mr. Alexander Donato, with assistance from Ms. Khay Ann Dula. The exercise offered the participants a hands-on experience in assessing and improving their QMS implementation.
MPSU has been a consistent advocate for quality management. The University successfully passed its ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit in May 2024 and is now gearing up for its upcoming recertification this year.
This seminar reflects MPSU’s commitment to sharing its expertise and promoting quality management practices among local institutions, contributing to the improvement of service delivery in the province.
