MPSU Holds Leadership Development Training for Women and Youth Leaders

Mountain Province State University (MPSU)-Bontoc, through its Extension Services and Community Engagement (ESCE) Unit, conducted a one-day leadership development training for women and youth leaders on July 17 at the Administration Conference Hall.

Dubbed “Building Inclusive Leaders: Leadership Development for Women and Youth Leaders in Reintegration and Community Governance,” the activity brought together women and youth leaders, Gender and Development (GAD) focal persons, and representatives from partner agencies to enhance their leadership competencies and deepen their understanding of community reintegration.

Throughout the activity, participants attended a series of learning sessions on “Empowering Women and Youth Leaders: Leadership and Trainers’ Training for Gender-Responsive Reintegration and Empowerment Communities,” facilitated by Dr. Joy Fraine M. Ngodcho. The sessions were followed by discussions on Foundations of Leadership by Dr. Lydia L. Budod, Gender-Responsive Leadership and Governance by Ms. Dixty L. Caranto, and Community Reintegration and Empowerment by Dr. Budod.

A workshop on leadership self-assessment and reflection concluded the training sessions, allowing participants to identify their leadership strengths and formulate action plans for their respective communities.

The training forms part of MPSU’s extension program aimed at empowering women and youth leaders to become catalysts for community transformation while supporting gender-responsive governance and the reintegration of returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Mountain Province.
