Mountain Province State University (MPSU), through the Extension Services and Community Engagement Unit, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bontoc, is conducting the Leadership Summit, Mentoring, Evaluation, and Sustainability Partnership Building today, July 29, 2026, at the University Administration Conference Hall.
The extension activity aims to strengthen the leadership capabilities of women and youth leaders, as well as Gender and Development (GAD) and reintegration focal persons, through mentoring, coaching, and partnership-building sessions to enhance participants’ leadership, facilitation, and networking skills to support sustainable community initiatives.
MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue delivered an inspiring message to the participants, emphasizing that leadership is not about being above others but about standing with others, and that the greatest leaders are those who inspire and empower others to lead. He reminded the participants that “communities flourish because of leaders who serve with humility, compassion, integrity, and genuine concern for the people they represent.”
The event features Dr. Lydia L. Budod as the resource speaker, who shares valuable insights on effective leadership and community empowerment.
Said training is one of MPSU’s ongoing efforts to empower women and youth leaders as drivers of change in their communities while promoting gender-responsive governance and help returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Mountain Province successfully reintegrate into their hometowns.
