BONTOC, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE โ A total of 185 fourth-year pre-service teachers from the College of Teacher Education (CTE) formally embarked on the next phase of their academic journey during the 7th Pinning of Nameplate, Candle Lighting, and Send-Off Ceremony, organized by the Future Mentors Society (FMS) at the Mayaen Sports Complex today, July 29.
During the program, Guest of Honor and Speaker Mr. Warden B. Taltala encouraged the aspiring educators to embrace their teaching internship with dedication, purpose, and responsibility. Reinforcing this message, MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue urged the student interns to “teach with empathy, lead with courage, and commit to continuous growth” as they embark on their field experience.
The event marked a significant milestone as the teacher interns transitioned from classroom instruction to actual field experience. It also recognized their readiness to translate the knowledge, skills, and values they have cultivated throughout their years of study into meaningful learning experiences for their future students.
Among the highlights of the occasion was the Pinning of Nameplate, which symbolized the students’ identity, accountability, and commitment as future educators. This was followed by the Candle Lighting Ceremony, where each lighted candle represented hope, knowledge, and the enduring dedication expected of teachers in guiding and inspiring future generations.
Parents, faculty members, university officials, and invited guests gathered to express their support and encouragement as the interns embarked on this pivotal stage of their academic and professional development.
The program concluded with the Send-Off Ceremony, signifying the official deployment of the teacher interns to their respective cooperating schools. As they begin this new chapter, they carry with them not only the knowledge and competencies gained from Mountain Province State University but also the values of integrity, compassion, and service that define the teaching profession.
