Mountain Province State University (MPSU) officially launched its first Modifiable Voting System today. July 30, 2026.
Developed by Mr. Arny Banes, the Modifiable Voting System is now being used in the 2026 Supreme Student Council (SSC) Elections, providing students with a secure, efficient, and accessible voting platform. Through the system, students can conveniently cast their votes either in their assigned classrooms or by using their mobile phones.
Held at the 3rd Floor of the Academe Building, MPSU Bontoc, MP, the launching ceremony was graced by University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Banes for developing the voting system, as well as to the Student Services Development Office (SSDO), student leaders, University officials, and everyone whose collective efforts made the initiative possible.
In his message, Dr. Cue congratulated the candidates for taking part in the democratic process and reminded them that leadership is founded on service and responsibility.
“For those who will earn the trust of the student body, remember that victory is not a privilege. It is a responsibility,” he said.
Addressing the student voters, Dr. Cue also emphasized the importance of making informed choices during the elections.
“Choose leaders who are willing to do the work even when no one is watching. The best leaders are not those who seek attention; they are those who seek solutions,” he said.
Dr. Cue also said, “[C]hoose leaders who know how to listen and how to act, leaders who understand the concerns of their fellow students and have the courage and commitment to transform ideas into meaningful action.”
The successful launch of the Modifiable Voting System reflects MPSU’s commitment to embracing technological innovation while preserving the core values of fairness, honesty, transparency, and trust in the electoral process.
