MPSU, DSWD conclude KALAHI-CIDSS Cash-for-Work Program with payout


Mountain Province State University (MPSU), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) KALAHI-CIDSS and partner agencies, concluded the KALAHI-CIDSS Cash-for-Work Program with a culminating activity and payout held at the University Auditorium today, August 13, 2026.

In his message of support, MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by Bontoc Campus Administrator Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, emphasized the lasting value of the experiences gained by the beneficiaries, saying, “Income provides for today, but experience creates opportunities for tomorrow.” He highlighted the development of discipline, responsibility, teamwork, adaptability, and accountability among the participants as valuable outcomes of the program.

Meanwhile, Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr., Representative of the Lone District of Mountain Province, represented by Political Officer of the Office of the Congressman Mr. Dionisio Wacdisen, underscored the importance of collaboration in bringing government programs closer to beneficiaries, stating, “Our collaboration has proven that government works best when we work hand and hand.”

Also sharing messages of support during the activity were Ms. Ginette L. Sayya-an, SWO III of DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS, and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of LGU-Bontoc, through Ms. Rosalin C. Oyang, who highlighted the significance of the program and the support extended to its beneficiaries.

The culminating activity featured an inspirational talk, beneficiary insights and reflections, awarding of certificates, ceremonial payout, and a community dance.

Said program brought together KALAHI-CIDSS Cash-for-Work beneficiaries, university officials, DSWD representatives, government partners, students, alumni, faculty, and staff to mark the program’s completion and recognize the participants’ efforts in gaining practical experience, strengthening community involvement, and building valuable skills. Among the university officials present were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco and Student Services Development Office (SSDO) Dean Ms. Jennifer Ruth C. Tuazon.
