Upholding the rights, dignity, and well-being of its people, Mountain Province State University (MPSU) launched its Free Legal Services cum Gender and Development (GAD) Services for students and employees, scheduled today October 13 until 16, at Admin Lobby, MPSU, Bontoc, MP in celebration of Philippine Law Week and Mental Awareness Month.
University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue graced the initiative with a message emphasizing that leadership means more than achieving institutional goals—it means protecting rights, respecting dignity, and ensuring accessible support for everyone.
He also underscored the interconnectedness of legal protection, gender equality, personal safety, and mental health, stressing that no student or employee should face discrimination, harassment, or injustice alone. He encouraged a university culture where seeking help is recognized as an act of courage, not weakness.
Students and employees may avail themselves of the following services at the designated venues:
• Administrative Lobby- free legal services, including the drafting of simple affidavits and notarial services;
• GAD Office- individual consultations on mental health and wellness, as well as other GAD services; and
• Legal Services Office- individual consultations on legal matters.
Through these services, MPSU strengthens its commitment to making justice accessible and empowering its community to understand and uphold their rights.
As Dr. Cue emphasized, a truly inclusive university is one that listens, respects, protects, and empowers—building a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
