BAGUIO CITY — In a continuous pursuit of academic excellence and program enhancement, key officials and faculty members of the Mountain Province State University (MPSU) College of Teacher Education (CTE) conducted a benchmarking activity at Saint Louis University (SLU) on October 12, 2016.
The delegation was led by CTE Dean Dr. Annie Grail Ekid, alongside Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNED) Program Chairperson Mr. Alvin Katano, and members of the Special Needs faculty.
The visit commenced with a courtesy call at the office of the Director for Linkage and Internationalization, Dr. Stephenie Busbus setting a collaborative tone for the day’s engagements.
Following the courtesy visit, the MPSU team toured the Pedagogical Development Center, exploring state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to both Early Childhood and Special Needs Education. They also visited SLU’s Inclusive Education Center, where fruitful discussions were held regarding the management, research initiatives, and extension services of SLU’s Special Needs Education program.
A key highlight of the activity was the exploration of a potential Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MPSU and SLU, aimed at fostering future institutional partnerships.
This benchmarking initiative is a vital step for MPSU-CTE as it seeks to adopt best practices, upgrade its facilities and curriculum, and ultimately strengthen its Special Needs Education program to better serve its students and the community.
