Prexy Cue Leads MPSU in Fostering Partnerships and Strengthening Extension Initiatives

Mountain Province State University (MPSU) President Dr. Edgar G. Cue underscored the importance of collaboration and shared commitment in advancing community development as MPSU joined partner institutions and participants for the Solidarity Night of the Regional Capability Building on Extension Management and Impact Assessment on October 15 at Basil and Lime Hall in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

The gathering brought together representatives from various institutions, including members of the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers, Inc. (PAEPI), to strengthen professional ties and promote more responsive, relevant, and impactful extension initiatives.

In his message, Dr. Cue emphasized the core values that give purpose and sustainability to extension work.

β€œLet us carry with us the reminder that while knowledge equips us to create change, it is compassion that gives that change purpose, collaboration that makes it possible, and solidarity that sustains it.”

A major highlight of the evening was the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected officers of the PAEPI–Cordillera Administrative Region (PAEPI-CAR). The new set of officers is led by Dr. Joy Fraine M. Ngodcho of MPSU as president, with Dr. Rex M. Duclayan of Kalinga State University (KSU) as vice president; Ms. Daniela W. Paspas of MPSU as secretary; Dr. Peggygail K. Pumaat of MPSU as assistant secretary; Dr. Mirasol L. Agpuldo of Apayao State College as treasurer; Dr. Marilou D. Alngag of KSU as public relations officer (PRO); Dr. Candida Flora B. Benoza of the University of Abra as auditor; and Ms. Desiree A. Ballitoc of Ifugao State University (IFSU) and Dr. Elizabeth P. Lacaben of MPSU as business managers.

Moreover, in a collective expression of unity and shared responsibility, the participants also took a pledge of commitment to uphold and apply the knowledge, skills, and competencies they gained from the capability-building activity. This commitment reaffirmed their shared responsibility to translate learning into effective extension practices that respond to community needs and generate meaningful, sustainable outcomes.

Through initiatives such as this, MPSU and its partner institutions continue to foster collaboration, strengthen professional networks, and advance extension programs that contribute to inclusive community development.
