
Mountain Province State University, through the Bachelor of Accountancy (BSA) Department, conducted Risk-Based Cooperative Audit seminar for audit committee members, as well as other interested officers and members of various cooperatives of the province yesterday, April 9, 2025, at Bayleโs Delight, Caluttit, Bontoc.
Through their project, โAdvancing the Cooperative Movement through Professionalism of its Stockholders,โ this extension activity aimed to equip cooperatives with audit procedures and techniques. Specifically, it sought to enable them to prepare audit reports that imbues the ethics and standards governing the internal audit.
In the message of the university president, Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by School of Accountancy, Business and Technology Dean Dr. Elvin P. Rosario, he acknowledged the presence of the participants and commended the BSA department for initiating such an activity that could empower the community.
โAs audit committees, you serve as the vanguard of transparency and accountability in your cooperatives. If you are knowledgeable about your financial systems and know how to manage audit risk and potential risk exposures, for sure your cooperative will continue to thrive and prosper,โ added Cue in his message.#
