Bontoc, Mountain Province — The Societas Scientia successfully concluded its 11-day Clean-Up Drive yesterday, 01 May 2025, in support of the 7th Mahal Ko Chico River Clean-Up Drive, held across various barangays along the Chico River in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
The activity was also conducted in conjunction with the CARASUC Regional Events and the Lang-ay Festival 2025, playing a key role in promoting environmental responsibility during these large public gatherings. Through the concerted efforts of students and volunteers, the organization collected an impressive 948 bags of waste.
Upon inspection, a significant portion of the waste collected consisted of recyclables and improperly discarded household trash, indicating a continued need for public awareness on proper waste disposal and segregation.
Societas Scientia firmly believes that community involvement, environmental discipline, and a shared respect for nature are vital to preserving the Chico River. The group hopes this initiative inspires more individuals and organizations to act in safeguarding natural resources for generations to come.#
