Eyeb Covered Gym, Bontoc, MP— The University recognizes its students who excelled in academics, performing arts, and sports through the Araw ng Parangal, today, 02 May 2025.

Bearing the theme, โ€œCelebrating Excellence: A Tribute to Studentsโ€™ Hard Work and Success,โ€ the event was attended by 438 Deanโ€™s Listers, 173 Presidentโ€™s Listers, 42 Performing Arts awardees, and 137 Sports awardees. Accompanying the academic awardees were their parents and/or guardians.

Atty. Darlyn P. Bangsoy, a BS in Accountancy alumna of batch 2017, was the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In her inspirational message, she shared three learnings with the awardees: (1) never stop dreaming and prove to everyone that we are at par with graduates from big and famous universities; (2) dreaming is not merely looking at the stars and wishing this and that, but is equated to hard work; and (3) show up no matter what… show up tired, show up unprepared, show up scared, what matters is that you showed up and did not quit. Atty. Bangsoy also thanked the parents and/or guardians for their sacrifices in sending their children to the University.

Meanwhile, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue congratulated the athletes for giving their best during the CARASUC and SCUAA games, the performers for lifting the colors of the University in sports culture and the arts, and the academic awardees for striving to get good grades. โ€œAs you receive your awards today, use them as your inspiration to strive more because that is not your limit,โ€ Dr. Cue added.

SSDO Dean Ms. Jennifer Ruth C. Tuazon also challenged the awardees to continue balancing their passions with their purpose and to stay hungry for growth. โ€œLet today be more than a celebration, let it be a reminder of what youโ€™re capable of,โ€ she added.

The Araw ng Parangal is an annual event of the University to commend its students who excel in academics, sports, and performing arts, among others.#

Note: The collection of photos taken during the event will be posted soon.
