MPSU to Open ‘Happiness Center’ for Mental Health Support


To address the increasing and alarming cases of suicide among students due to mental health problems, an emergency meeting was conducted at the Board Room today, May 15, 2025, to discuss the immediate opening of a mind and wellness center at Mountain Province State University to be known as the Happiness Center.

This center, which will be located at the old office of the president on the 3rd floor of the MPSU’s administration building, aims to accommodate students and employees who need a supportive space for their holistic well-being.

Presided over by University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, the meeting was attended by Bontoc Campus Executive Director Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, Director for Medical and Dental Services Mr. Joseph B. Brilliantes, School Clinic personnel Ms. Michelle Dos, School of Healthcare Education Dean Mr. Alfred O. Fomocao, Planning Officer III Dr. Gemma Ngelangel, SSC President Mr. Hill Coleman Awichen, and Guidance Office personnel and staff.
