In a continued effort to strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience, students, faculty, and staff of the University actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today, 19 June 2025.
The NSED, conducted four times a year, aims to promote public awareness and readiness in the event of a major earthquake. At exactly 9:00 a.m., sirens signaled the start of the simulation, prompting the activation of the Incident Command System (ICS) and the participants to perform the standard โDuck, Cover, and Holdโ procedure.
In addition to the basic earthquake response protocol, the University also conducted an evacuation exercise. All participants proceeded to the designated evacuation areas following safety protocols and ensuring an orderly and efficient movement out of campus buildings. Throughout the drill, the ICS performed their designated functions, ensuring coordinated and effective response operations.
An assessment of the drill was conducted afterward at the Admin Conference Hall.#
