Baguio CityโIn a stride to continuously improve institutional performance and ensure alignment with national and global development, Mountain Province State University (MPSU) launched a two-day VMGO (Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives) assessment and strategic planning session on July 4-5, 2025, at the Forest Lodge, Camp John Hay.
Spearheaded by the Planning and Development Office, they invited two key individuals in the field of education who facilitated the said activity. They were the former CHED Commissioner Dr. Lillian A. De Las Llagas and the former CHED -CAR Regional Director and Director for Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance, Ms. Luisa C. Valencia, both seasoned experts in organizational development and strategic planning.
University President Dr. Edgar Cue led the delegation composed of MPSU officials from various campuses. The first day of the workshop centered on sectoral accomplishment reporting, where each university sector presented key achievements and progress made over recent years. The reports highlighted milestones that contribute to MPSUโs growth and the fulfillment of its mission.
Following the presentations, participants delved into a series of workshop sessions focused on identifying institutional strengths, gaps, and challenges. This critical analysis enabled the group to pinpoint specific areas requiring improvement and development. The collaborative discussions facilitated a shared understanding of sectoral needs, which is essential for effective leveling and alignment with the universityโs overarching vision and mission.
