10 July 2025–Bearing the theme Innovating the Minds of Future Nurses: a Pathway to Revolutionary Healthcare, 310 Level 1 students of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing participated in the 18th Capping, Pinning and Candle-lighting ceremony at the Mayaen Sports Complex.

Known as “Class Floravita,” Said event was graced with the presence of Mr. Joselito M. Datud, Chief Nurse of Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, as the guest of honor and speaker. Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog Jr. also gave an inspirational message to the students.

Meanwhile, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue represented by CAO Atty. Dexter C. Lingbanan reminded the students to be ready as they will be tested not only in skills and knowledge but also in heart and character as they will face people, their patients, with different backgrounds and stories.

“As we send you to the most exciting part of being a student nurse, we pledge to send you prepared and armored with skills, values, character, and heart to face any adversities along your way,” he added.

The symbolic lighting of candles and donning of caps and pins reflected the students’ readiness to embrace their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to human life.#
