
MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue met with Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Field Operation Office of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Central Office Engr. Jimmy S. Santiago during a coffee gathering held at MPSU Ba-ang today, March 12, 2026.
Said meeting centered on strengthening institutional collaboration and highlighting the universityโs coffee initiative, which aims to promote local coffee production, support farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries, and encourage research and extension programs that contribute to sustainable agricultural development in the province.
President Cue was accompanied by Ba-ang Administrator Ms. Brenda P. Liis; Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr.; and School Administrator of Northland Technical Institute Ms. Winifred G. Cue.
The activity provided an opportunity for university officials and the visiting DAR representative to engage in a brief yet meaningful discussion over locally produced coffee from the campus. The gathering also served as a platform to showcase the universityโs efforts in promoting local coffee production while exploring possible partnerships with national government agencies.
Prior to the meeting, the group also conducted a campus visit to engage with personnel and observe ongoing initiatives of the university, including programs related to coffee production, research, and community extension.
